How to Design Your Bands:

1.) SIZE: If you need a specific size for something like a call or lanyard, find the diameter of your item. If you don’t need a specific size, then we recommend our Style #1242-14 duck band and Style #1242-24 goose band. 2.) COLOR: After you know what style/size band you want, you can now select your color. Color options vary by size. Go to our bird band page here and click on the size you want. All the colors for that specific size will then be listed. The most popular color is plain (silver) aluminum like what you would find on an actual bird banded by the USGS Bird Banding Lab. 3.) STAMPING: Stamping limitations are also based on the band size. You can view the stamping limitations by band size here. The more text you add, the smaller the text will be. Serial numbers will be off to the side of your text unless you want a Federal Band look. You can see the difference between the two stamping set ups here. 4.) APPLICATORS: NB&T applicators are made to fit each individual size of band. Bands will arrive closed on a string, so if you plan on keeping them closed, then you won’t need an applicator. But if you plan on opening and closing the bands around your product, then we recommend getting an applicator. They are designed to close the band and keep it rounded. Dog Bark Park Inn – The World’s Largest Beagle

Husband and wife artists, and Dog Bark Park Inn owners, Dennis Sullivan and Francis Conklin have been ordering NB&T tags for over 30 years. They add brass tags, Style #298 Heart, as a “license tag” on every chainsaw dog carving they make. Each “license tag” is stamped with the year, business name, location and zip code. They have carved and sold over 30,000 wooden dog carvings from their Idaho art studio and gift shop.

To go along with their dog shaped chainsaw artwork gift shop, Dennis and Francis added a 30 feet tall beagle shaped bed and breakfast inn. Dog lovers visiting Cottonwood, Idaho can stop and get their picture with the World’s Largest Beagle! If you are lucky enough to snag a reservation to stay at the inn, you will find more dog chainsaw creations on the inside of the beagle.

Custom Wedding Bird Bands

Banded for Life

Did you know, we can create custom duck or goose bands for your proposal, save-the-dates, or wedding favors?

Well, we have a new one to add to the list, Name Card Holders!

One of our creative customers got stamped leg bands and cut slits in the name tags so that they would slide over the sides of the bands. The bands featured below are our Style 1242-20 (5/8″ diameter), Butt-End Bands, in plain aluminum. These are the same types of bands that the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory uses on birds in the wild for research. This couple customized their bands with “Banded On”, the wedding date, and their names. We can customize bands with almost any text. Most couples like to put their wedding date on the second line in a bigger text because then it looks similar to an actual federal band.

Hunt Test Bands for Hunting Retriever Clubs

A hunt test is an event where the natural ability and training of gun dogs are tested and evaluated. Hunt tests are organized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), the North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA), and the Hunting Retriever Club (HRC). The AKC awards the titles of Junior, Senior, and Master Hunter for performance in hunt tests. The hunting dogs are put in conditions that are encountered when hunting, and their performance on finding and retrieving birds is how they are rated.

A typical HRC hunt test is divided into two series of evaluations, the land series and the water series. In each series the dogs are evaluated for their natural retrieving desire, memory, marking ability, and obedience to their handler’s commands.

A Look Back at 2016

It has been an exciting and busy time here at National Band & Tag this year! Besides growing our product lines, we also grew our business with the acquisition of Hasco Tag Company back in May. We are very excited to welcome all our new Hasco customers to the National Band & Tag family, and look forward to providing everyone with identification solutions in 2017!

Customized Tags

NB&T has been stamping metal bands and tags for over 113 years. We specialize in stamping sequential numbering and laser etching custom, or non-sequential numbering. When you need every tag to have unique information on it, consider our laser etching service. Laser etching is an affordable alternative to stamping. The surface etching created by the laser is suitable in most environments and applications.

Your list of assets can be etched into individual metal or plastic tags for high visibility, better security, safety, compliance, inspections or just getting things organized to help your employees be more productive! This is an electronic process, thus, we do need data formatted as a simple text file. Here’s how to transfer your data.

Our .040” black anodized aluminum is UV stable and works great for long term outdoor applications. We also offer a wide variety of colored aluminum products and stainless steel for those special environments that require this metal. And finally, we also offer a wide variety of plastics which are flexible and can take a great deal of abuse.

Although most of the images created on these materials are high contrast (dark image on a light surface or light image on the dark surface), we can creatively adjust the images for a more striking contrast.
